We don't offer bulk discounts or packages — every dog gets the same care at the same fair price. Walks cancelled with less than 24 hours' notice are charged in full.

We set your schedule
Pick your walk length and window. You'll get a Time To Pet client portal to manage visits, keys and invoices.
Report cards start arriving
Photos, potty notes and a walker update after every visit. Head to work and stop worrying.

Meet the founder
Hi, I'm Katie.
I started The Fairy Dogmom in 2011 in Old Town, and it's still the best decision I've ever made. Fourteen years and hundreds of dogs later, my love for Alexandria's pets has only grown.
I'm a proud Alexandria resident — I live in Del Ray with my husband, our three kids, and Moose, our Bernedoodle. You'll find us biking down Del Ray Avenue or at whatever dog-friendly event is happening that weekend. This is my home, and every dog we walk is part of the neighborhood I love.
Our team is small on purpose. Every "Fairy" is hand-selected and background-checked — military spouses, stay-at-home parents, retirees and grad students who want to be outside with dogs and stick around for years.

Are you licensed and insured?
Yes. We're licensed by the City of Alexandria and fully insured through Travelers Insurance. Every member of our team passes a background check before their first walk.
Which neighborhoods do you serve?
We currently walk pups in the 22301, 22302, 22304, 22305 and 22314 zip codes — Del Ray, Old Town and the surrounding Alexandria neighborhoods.
Will my dog have the same walker every time?
Daily clients are matched with a dedicated walker and get a complimentary meet & greet before the first visit. Occasional clients meet with Katie to go over the routine, and we'll send whoever is best for your schedule.
How will I know how the walk went?
After every visit you'll get a report card through our professional app: potty updates, photos and notes from your walker.
Do you offer packages or multi-dog discounts?
We keep it simple: no bulk packages. Extra dogs in the same household are just $5 more per visit unless they need a separate walk.
What's your cancellation policy?
We ask for 24 hours' notice to cancel a walk without charge.
How do I schedule and pay?
Everything runs through our Time To Pet client portal and app: request or change visits, read report cards, and pay invoices by bank transfer (ACH) or mailed check. We don't currently take credit cards.
